SAVE UDLE

We need your help to raise $5000 to keep our doors open.

What is UDLE?

A Café to Connect, Built by One Father’s Dream.

UDLE is not your average café.
Situated inside a university campus, next to Glenferrie station, it’s a place for university students, staff, and locals to connect, laugh, and enjoy Japanese and Western fusion meals. But wait, you think that’s it?

No, no, no! UDLE is also home to the wildest boba drinks you’ll ever find—yes, even coffee with boba. Who thinks of this? Only UDLE. It’s all about bringing bold flavors and a lot of fun to the table!

Meet
Uncle Boba!

The legend behind UDLE.

Not only is he the owner, chef, server, and cleaner, but he’s also a devoted father of two. This man does everything! Marco’s dream was to create a space that brings people together, a community hub where strangers become friends and everyone feels supported. He’s the type of guy who remembers your name, your order, and probably your life story too. Always smiling, always making you feel at home. Simply lovely.

We’re Running Out of Boba

By that I mean we are in deep trouble. With $5000 operational costs due, December 31st could be our last day.

Summer holidays are here, and with students gone from the university campus, UDLE has lost its main source of foot traffic. With little to no income during this slow period, staying afloat has become a daily struggle.

Marco, the owner, is doing everything he can to keep the café running, but the reality is harsh. The next rent payment and operational costs of $5000 are due on December 31st, and without enough income, UDLE won’t be able to pay it. This puts the café, and the community it has built, at risk of closing its doors for good.

Is This
Really
The
End?
NOooooo!!!
We don’t just give up. We’re launching a 30-day fundraising campaign called Save UDLE.

The campaign aims to raise $5000 in funding to help UDLE survive the summer break. Hosted on GoFundMe, this effort will not only secure the café’s future but also showcase the heart and determination that make UDLE special.

To keep the momentum going, we’ll be posting daily Instagram reels to highlight what’s happening behind the scenes at UDLE with Marco’s tireless dedication, alongside stories from the people who make up the UDLE community.

As part of the campaign, we’re kicking off a 7-day initiative called Giving UDLE a Makeover. During this week, we’ll focus on elevating every aspect of the café to ensure it not only survives but thrives. This includes redesigning the menu, improving food quality, refreshing the restaurant layout, and transforming UDLE into a board game café. This isn’t just about saving UDLE; it’s about ensuring it comes back stronger than ever, ready to welcome the community it serves. Together, we can give Marco and UDLE the fresh start they deserve.

Let’s Hear What the Community
Has to Say

“He leads a community. You may talk to other people; you may make friends. And that’s a community itself. If any cafe owner deserves it in life, I think it’s Uncle Boba.”

“UDLE is a great place to be. It’s a good community, and it just helps students a lot when we’re struggling, not only in academic stuff but also life stuff.”

“Uncle Boba is incredibly kind and empathetic, remembering most customers by name and always knowing how to cheer you up.”
